  The origin of the clog is very much of nature providing a means to the problem of needing footwear. Nature provided the tree, of which cuts of wood were hollowed out and shaped, thus providing the foot with protection. Time resulted in hides and cloths being used for the uppers, thus adding to the lightening of the weight of the clogs along with greater improvement in tools and the skills to create more elaborate forms to both the wooden sole and the uppers. This today has us with a myriad of styles and presentations of the clog ranging from the standard low heeled wood base and leather or synthetic upper through to precarious high heeled variants.
Our interplay is based upon practicality, comfort, quality of materials, standard of construction and overall user friendliness. The clog has been often perceived as a cheap, simple and accessable means of footwear. Hence the clog is not always been presented in the most positive of lights. Often, the fashion press has not always given its words of approval to clogs and this in turn has made many stay away from and/or look down upon clogs.  We will continue to add to our range of clogs as of when we find brands and manufacturers whom are worthy and willing to be suppliers. The sole unit is split in two parts, with the join being a rubber link thus facilitating flexibility at the points that the toes and start of the ball of the foot. This style of footwear has a number of imitators but the quality and care that Woody puts into their products remains the deciding factor for us as retailers.
